Humid continental climate is found in, Northeastern China, the northern part of the Korean Peninsula, and northern Japan. This area has big differences in temperature throughout the year. There you will find warm summers and cold winters. The remaining part of East Asia and Southeast Asia have humid subtropical climate. The climate found in January is good for growing rice. The temperatures in South Dakota are much different than in Asia. The average temperature in Hanoi is 63 degrees in January. That temperature is way off from the average temp in South Dakota. January’s average temperature is just 13.5 degrees, making a difference of 49.5 degrees between Hanoi and South Dakota. As you probably have noticed there is not very much in common with these two areas climate.
Northeastern China, Northern part of the Korean Peninsula, and Northern Japan all has humid continental climates. Here the winters are cold and the summers are warm. While on the other side East Asia and the Northern part of Southeast Asia have humid subtropical climate. The U.S.A.’s summers are slightly colder than the humid continental zone. For the average temperature in Hanoi, Vietnam in July is 74 degrees and the January temperature is 63 so this climate is good for growing crops. Well our average January temperature is defiantly not 63 degrees and will probably not get close to 63 degrees. Although the summer is a different story we are 1.2 degrees warmer than Hanoi, Vietnam in the July. As you can see our temperatures compared are a lot different. South Dakota’s January temperature is 13.5 and that is nothing compared to 63 degrees. And some of that could be is that they live closer to the equator than us.
Northeastern China, the northern part of the Korean Peninsula, and northern Japan all has a humid continental climate. During the summer this area is warm. During the winter this area gets cooler and cold. The average temperature for August is 70 degrees F. The average temp for January is 16 degrees F. The rest of East and South Asia have a humid subtropical climate. The climates here in the US are very similar to the climates in this area. Like them we have warm summers and not cold summers. We also have cold winters like them. Are average temperatures is around 15 to 20 degrees and theirs is 16. They are very similar. However, in Hanoi January temps are are 63 degrees F. This is not even close to the temperatures we get here in SD.
Parts of Asia that have humid continental climates are: Northeastern China, Northern area of the Korean Peninsula, and Northern Japan. In the summers of this area, temperatures are warm and in the winter, temperatures are cold. On the island of Hokkaido, average temperature in August is about 70 degrees and in January, 16 degrees. The rest of East Asia has humid subtropical climates where summers are warm and winters are much warmer than humid continental climate zone. The average temperatures in this climate zone are about 74 degrees in the summer and about 63 degrees in the winter.
Comparing South Dakota to Asia’s wet continental climate zones; I would say they are much alike. I would say our climate is closer to the humid continental climate because we have nice, warm summers, but harsh cold winters. In August, I would say our average temperature is about 80 degrees than 70 degrees. Our average temperature in January is probably about the same as Asia’s humid continental climate zone. Our average snowfall months are about the same too, from November till April. Of course that’s not happening this year =0)
Northeastern China and Japan have humid continental climates. Summers are warm, and winters are cold. For Hokkaido the winters can get snowy. The snow often covers the island between November and April. The rest of East Asia and the northern part of Southeast Asia have a humid subtropical climate. Summer temperatures are a little higher in the humid continental zone, and winters are much warmer.
Our climates are much similar to the humid continental climates. The summers are warm and sometimes hot and the winters are cold. Also we get snow in the winter too. The humid subtropical climate has much more warmer temperatures in the summer and winter. The weather is warmer in the summer but weather in winter is slightly warmer as well.
Northeastern China, the northern part of the Korean Peninsula, and northern Japan has humid continental climates. Summers are warm and winters are cold. In Hokkaido, in January the temperatures fall to 16 degrees and in August the average temperature is 70 degrees. The average July temperature in Hanoi Vietnam is 74 degrees and in January its 63. In Hanoi it is a good place for growing rice.
The temperatures are different than South Dakota because in Hokkaido, the temperature in January is 16 degrees and here is sometimes much colder. Also in August the temperature is 70 degrees and sometimes the weather here is much warmer. The temperature can be different because we live farther from the equator than some of the places in Asia. Sometimes the weather is the same but sometimes it’s not. Our climate might be good for growing rice but maybe not; maybe it just depends on the weather, (a lot of things do).
